Serpentine is a name for a group of minerals with the same chemical composition which generally includes magnesium, asbestos, and silicate minerals formed in Serpentinite rock. Chrysotile, antigorite, and lizardite are three of the primary serpentine minerals. There are many other serpentine minerals, most of which are rare. The colors can vary from light and dark greens to brown, yellow, white, and grey.
